6 Unusual Uses For Coffee!

We all know that coffee can be very useful for giving us energy to make it through the day, especially those days when we don’t feel like getting out of bed! But coffee can be a benefit in many other ways too!

1. FRIDGE DEODORIZER

Coffee can help minimize strong food odors and smells that may be left over from food prepping. All you do is make a small sachet of ground coffee, leave in the back of your fridge for a few days, and the sachet should help absorb those funky odors and leave behind a nice coffee scent!

2. STEAK RUB

Toast fresh coffee grounds under a hot broiler for about 30 seconds and shake the grounds often to avoid burning. Combine the toasted coffee grounds with your other steak seasonings of choice, rub into steak, let marinate for a few hours in the fridge. And cook the steak to your liking!

3. WOOD STAIN

Brew a strong pot of coffee and add the grounds back in the pot of brewed coffee. Allow coffee to sit for a few then apply to the untreated wood. The coffee will stain the wood to a slightly darker color but won’t have a drastic change in color. If you leave the coffee grounds on the wood, it should result in a darker stain.

4. BREATH FRESHENER

Pop a whole roasted coffee bean in your mouth and your breath will be fresh before you know it!

5. UNCLOGS YOUR DRAIN

With a combo of dish soap, coffee grounds, and boiling water, you can easily get rid of any grease buildup in your sink!

6. NATURAL INSECT REPELLENT

Coffee has a strong odor that repels insects like ants, mosquitos, maggots, slugs, and more! All you have to do is sprinkle some coffee grounds on areas of your house that you want to stay bug-free like around doors, in the cracks of your wall, etc. If your out of bug spray, just rub a light coating on a small area on your shoulders, legs, etc and dust off the access!

I hope these were helpful! Have you tried any of these uses before? Do you know of any other unusual uses for coffee?!
