Ingredients Needed With Benefits Listed
-sea salt : exfoliant, stress reducer, detoxifier, increases circulation
-honey : antibacterial properties, slows down aging, antioxidant
-sugar : natural humectant, exfoliant
-coffee grounds : antioxidant,exfoliant, contains caffeine which’s tightens skin and reduces cellulite, reduces swelling and inflammation
-shea butter : promotes tissue cell regeneration and softening of skin, reduces wrinkles,
-olive oil : antioxidant, has antibacterial properties, and vitamin E
-coconut oil : antimicrobial and has healing properties
-tea tree oil : antibacterial, heals inflammation, removes odor
-peppermint essential oil : helps with odor, helps muscles relax
-lavender essential oil : provides deeps sense of relaxation, helps relieve aches and pains
1. Homemade Body Scrub
1/2 cup coarse sugar
1/4 cup sea salt
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons coconut oil (if allergic, substitute for olive oil)
5-10 drops peppermint essential oil
1/8 cup shea butter
Directions: place sea salt and sugar into a bowl and blend well with a spoon. Add coconut oil, honey, and Shea butter and blend well. Add drops of peppermint oil to mixture and blend one last time. Transfer mixture to small glass jar with a lid and label it. Store in the fridge to help preserve it.
To use: after you’ve cleansed your body, use fingers or washcloth to massage body scrub onto body for about 10-15 seconds. Rinse off scrub and pat dry to leave your skin feeling smooth and soft!
2. Homemade Foot Scrub
1 cup sea salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil
5 drops tea tree oil
5 drops peppermint essential oil
8 drops lavender essential oil
Directions: place sea salt in bowl and add olive oil and coconut oil. Blend mixture with a fork. Add the essential oils and blend with other ingredients.
To use: place small amount in your hand with a spoon. Do this treatment in the shower or tub to avoid a mess! Leave Scrub on for 10-15 minutes and just relax! Once done, rinse with warm water then pat dry and follow with a moisturizer. Store mixture in refrigerator after use.
3. Homemade Lip Scrub
1/4 cup coffee grounds
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon coconut oil (if allergic do not add)
Directions: place coffee grounds into a bowl and blend with honey and olive oil and blend well with a fork.
To use: apply small amount with a soft toothbrush or washcloth to the lips. Gently massage in circular lotion, for about 20 seconds. Rinse and apply lip balm. Store in refrigerator to preserve mixture.
