I used to be a heavy over thinker so I feel where you’re coming from! What helped me was getting into the practice of meditating. When you meditate you just become more aware of your thoughts and maybe where they stem from. And you can just acknowledge those thoughts and let them float away.
Another thing that helped me with overthinking is to realize that I’m probably blowing things out of proportion where it’s not as serious as my thoughts are making the situation seem. And when it comes to what people think especially of an embarrassing situation, I usually tell myself that they don’t care as much as I think that they care and that they probably already forgot about what happened lol.
I know it’s easier said than done, but baby steps and celebrating the small victories is what worked for me 😊
