Hollywood Themed Party!

Hey guys! 

So I’ve been diving into many activities these past few months!

-I’ve started blogging back in February!

-I’m an Event Assistant which is pretty fun!

So far, I’ve helped with 1 event and took the lead for another event! 

The first event was a baby shower. My job was to help set up the decorations. I applied the chair covers, table cloths, put together the centerpieces, and helped set up the dessert table! 





I’ve done event planning on my own for family and friends but this is the first time that I’ve been involved with a professional event planner! So this is a whole new learning experience for me!

Then the event planner asked if I could take the lead for an 8th Grade Formal that was Hollywood Themed and the colors were red, black, and gold. The event plannaer had another event she was planning on the same day so she asked for my help on this one! 

My job for this event was to prepare the dessert table and the customized step and repeat (backdrop that guests take pictures in front of).

Here is the customized Step and Repeat with the red carpet and the ropes on the side!


I set up the back drop curtains for the dessert table. We had customized cookies made, pretzel sticks, marshmallows that were posed as mini popcorn! We also had an assortment of different chocolates and candies! When the event was over, ALL the candy was gone! So I know the kids definitely enjoyed it! Haha! 

Event planning is a potential business that I want to start in the future once I gain more experience! I believe this is a great start! 

Yes I do have a lot of things on my plate! But I love it because I’m working towards all my goals and it’s going very well so far! =)

*If you have a dreams or goals GO FOR IT! You may not have all the knowledge or resources but there is always someone out there who does! All you have to do is research, ask around and you will be surprised at how much help you receive! 

The worst that can happen is they will say no but you won’t know unless you TRY! And even if someone says no, KEEP ASKING and KEEP RESEARCHING! That’s how I got the Event Assistant gig!  Nothing is impossible unless YOU think it is! So change you mindset, you are more capable than you think, and go out there and fight for what you want! If you need help with something, feel free to ask me and I’ll try and help! =)

5 Remedies for Seasonal Allergies!

1.Nettle Tea and Peppermint Tea

The nettle leaf helps with seasonal allergies and peppermint helps reduce those stubborn histamines that may be causing you discomfort.

Directions:

Brew the nettle and peppermint tea together for about 5 minutes. Add honey and/or lemon to taste. Drink 2 times a day to relieve your allergies.

2. Bee Pollen

Consuming bee pollen starting with small amounts and increasing the dosage everyday will help to build up your immune system. But before you try this method, make sure that you are not anaphylactic or have any allergies to bees! The trick is to make sure you consume bee pollen that is local to your area or chances are you may not experience the allergy relief. The pollen comes in granules, capsules, and powder.

Directions:

I know at this point it may be a little late, but it is recommended that you take the pollen 5 months before your allergies flare.

Start with 1 or 2 granules and the next day increase the dosage by 1 granule. Continue this until you feel confident that you will not have a reaction. If you experience no adverse reaction, you can take up to 1 tablespoon daily throughout allergy season.

3. Citrus Drink

Drinking a citrus drink can help provide you with Vitamin C and help with strengthening your immune system.

Directions:

Squeeze the juice from 1/2 a lemon and 2 oranges and chill for a few hours. Stir in some honey for sweetness and drink on a daily basis.

4. Red Onion Water

Onions contain a compound called quercetin, which reduces the amount of histamines that are produced by the body, so therefore reduces allergy symptoms.

Directions:

Thinly slice 1 red onion and add to 4 cups of water. Let it sit for 8-12 hours and drink 1-2 times a day. Add a bit of honey to each glass that you drink to make the taste more pleasant.

5. Apple and Walnut Trail Mix

Walnuts contain magnesium which reduces with wheezing and coughing and Vitamin E which can boost your immunity. Apples also consist of quercetin which has the property of reducing the production of histamine.

Directions:

Chop 1/2 to 1 cup of walnuts and cut 1 apple into medium to small chunks. Add both to a plastic bag, mix it up, and enjoy!

DIY Turmeric Face Mask For Glowing Skin! 

TURMERIC BENEFITS

Turmeric helps reverse the effects of hyperpigmentation. 

This spice contains curcumin which has many benefits including being antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. 

Curcumin also soothes skin irritations, treat burns and relieve the pain of sunburn.

Turmeric mask also helps treat acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It reduces inflammatory, facial redness, and promotes skin healing! 

HONEY BENEFITS

Honey has so many health benefits which include treating acne, reducing appearance of pimples, scars, blemishes, and generally improves the skins appearance. 

It also contains antibacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant properties. Antioxidants protect the skin by not allowing toxins to harm the skin. Honey is also a skin moisturizer and attracts and holds water and at the same time dried out bacteria.

MILK BENEFITS

Milk contains lactic acid which helps soften dry, hard skin and reduce skin roughness.

 It also soothes irritated skin, repairs aged skin, and lightens skin! 

So know that you know the benefits of each ingredient, let’s get to the mask! 

Ingredients:

1tsp Turmeric

1tsp honey

1tsp milk

Directions:

-Combine all ingredients together in a bowl making sure it has a bit of a paste consistency so it’ll adhere to your face. 


-Wear a t-shirt that you’re okay with getting messy because tumeric DOES STAIN so be careful! 

-Apply Turmeric mask evenly to clean face. I used a clean make up brush for easier application. 


-Leave mask on for about 20 minutes then wash off with cool water. Gently dry your face with a washcloth. 

Warning: Make sure to do a skin test by putting the mask on a small area of skin befor applying to your face. Turmeric and honey can cause an allergic rash in some people which can cause hives, contact dermatitis, redness of skin, blisters, itchiness, and swelling. 

When I washed off my mask, my skin felt so soft and smooth! I will do this mask again in the future to help get rid of my hyperpigmentation!

If we stick our noses or ears where it doesn’t belong, it causes issues like:

Gossiping

Assuming

Judging

False Perception

When we engage in meddling, we are not hearing the whole story. We may just be getting half of the story not even knowing if this is what really happened.

We tend to take this information and run with it and base our thoughts and judgements on the information we just heard. 

It’s best to just keep your ears, nose, and thoughts to yourself!

Here are my plans after work:

1. Finish plans for my husband’s birthday party. He is turning 30 on June 30th.

2. Buy gifts for my husband. 

3. Go to the mall and buy a dress for a party on Saturday.

4. Read an inspirational book. 

5. Relax before I go to sleep.
