I thought it would be a good idea to go celebrate Valentine’s Day the day before. I knew that it would be super hectic on Valentine’s Day especially living in NYC!
We decided to go to one of our favorite spots called Pizza and Brew.
We ordered the tomato bruschetta and baked stuffed clams for appetizers.
I ordered the Fussili Fantasia which comes with grilled chicken, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella!
He ordered the Sunday Sauce which was a heaping serving of pasta with meatballs beef braciole, braised short ribs and garlic bread!
Everything was amazing!
Did anyone celebrate Valentine’s Day early too! If not what are you doing to celebrate today?
My husband and I decided to go to VA Beach for our anniversary. We normally go to the Poconos or somewhere in the tri state area but we wanted to go somewhere different this time around. It’s about 10 degrees warmer than NYC so I’ll take it! Haha!
On our first day here we went to this nice Italian restaurant near the boardwalk called Il Giardino Ristorante.
We had Vongole Casino for an appetizer which is baked clams with herbs, peppers, onion, and bacon.
For my entree, I ordered Pollo Alla Sorrentina which was made with chicken, spinach, zucchini, prosciutto, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and white wine.
The food was delicious and I would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the VA Beach area!
Went to lunch the other day at PF Chang’s and had ginger chicken with broccoli and fried rice. It was pretty good! I normally like anything that’s flavored with ginger, I like the slight spice factor it has haha!
What’s your favorite dish to get at PF Chang’s?
Hey y’all! So I’m excited to show you my smoothie bowl that I made for the first time!
I normally make regular smoothies but this morning I wanted to try something different. I whipped up a strawberry banana smoothie bowl. I think it turned out great!
Here’s the recipe:
Handful of frozen strawberries
2 frozen bananas
And ice to make thicker (optional)
-Put everything in the blender and blend until you reach your desired consistency. Since my blender is not very strong, I had to add more almond milk to make it easier to blend the ingredients.
-I then topped it with fresh strawberries and bananas along with granola and hemp seeds for added nutrients!
How did I do?! Have you made a smoothie bowl before? If so, what is your fav recipe?! Maybe I’ll give it a try and share a post about it!
Hey y’all! Cinco De Mayo was yesterday and I totally forgot about it until my hubby reminded me later in the day lol.
I wanted to cook something for the holiday so the ingredients I had available were those to make some good ‘ol homemade churros!
I found an easy recipe on Pinterest and they turned out really good! We gobbled them down within minutes while watching the new Game Of Thrones episode!
Who here loves churros?! Have you made them before?!
This morning I decided to make a fruit smoothie. Here’s what I added:
-1 handful of strawberries
-1 handful of blackberries
-juice of half a lemon
-half an avocado
-1 capful of apple cider vinegar
-1/2 cup almond milk
And there you have it! My delicious morning smoothie to start the day! =)
What do you eat or drink to start your day?!
I’ve had shrimp and grits one time before years and years ago. And I’ve been craving to have it again! So I decided to make shrimp and grits last night for dinner!
The grits were so filling and it had great flavor! Yum!
Have you ever had shrimp and grits before?
I discovered an interesting restaurant a few weeks ago called pizza & Brew. The decor of the restaurant looked so welcoming and I knew anything involving pizza had to be good! Haha! So my hubby and I went to this past weekend.
They have a variety of pizzas, Italian dishes, burgers, and more! They also have a good selection of beer and you can even buy a pitcher for your table!
Here is the Tomato Bruschetta that we ordered for an appetizer. Yum!
I ordered A La Vodka Pizza that had bacon chicken cutlets and a la vodka sauce substituted for tomato sauce.
My hubby ordered the classic margarita pizza and we also had a pitcher of Sam Adams Winter Lager.
I have to say that everything hands down was amazing! Can’t wait to go back which will probably be next week! =D
My husband and I went on a dinner date with our friends at Jewel of Himalaya which is an Indian restaurant in Yonkers.
I’ve never been here before but I heard great things about the food so I was excited to give it a try! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan which are two of my favorites! The food was so delicious, I left the restaurant completely full and satisfied lol! The staff was very attentive, friendly, and made us feel super comfortable. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check out this restaurant!
I wanted to make something different for dinner last night. So I ended up making crab legs!
I’ve never made them before so I got an easy recipe from Pinterest on how to prepare them. Along with the crab legs, I also made shrimp pasta in a garlic lemon butter sauce, corn on the cob, and garlic bread!
It was a messy dinner with cracking all the crabs but it was fun haha and tasty too!
Have you made crab legs before? If so, how do you prepare them? Let me know in the comments!
