5 Ways To Naturally Whiten Your Teeth!

Before we get into how to whiten our teeth, let’s see what leads to having yellow teeth!

WHY DO YOUR TEETH TURN YELLOW!

-drinking coffee or tea

-smoking cigarettes

-thinning tooth enamel due to aging

-poor diet which includes consuming processed foods high in acid

-excessive fluoride intake

-genetic factors

Now let’s get to the fun stuff!

1. BRUSH AFTER DRINKING OR EATING

Not always the easiest but the best way to whiten teeth naturally is to brush right after eating or drinking something.

2. BAKING SODA AND HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

Hydrogen peroxide is an antibacterial Agent and works great as a total mouth and gum cleaner and keeps the mouth free of germs.

Directions: Mix 2 parts of hydrogen peroxide with 1 part of baking soda to make a paste that’ll help remove plaque from your teeth.

Make sure to have enough hydrogen peroxide mixed skin as the baking soda can be rough on your enamel.

Brush the paste on your teeth for about 30 seconds and rinse well.

3. COCONUT OIL PULLING

Oil pulling works by detoxifying the oral cavity by sucking the dirt (toxins) put ofbyour mouth and creates a clean, antiseptic oral environment.

Directions: put a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth and swish between your teeth for 5 – 20 minutes or add a few drops to your toothbrush and brush it on

Another option is to apply coconut oil to a corner of a clean washcloth and rub it on your teeth!

A bonus: Coconut oil has antimicrobial properites so its great for protecting and cleaning your gums too!

4. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

ACV works as a natural antibiotic, teeth/gum cleanser, and is able to remove those stubborn stains on the teeth. Since it’s naturally acidic, it helps break down plaque or other substances stuck to the teeth. Be careful not to brush too hard or too much as it can remove the enamel from your teeth.

Directions: Brush with ACV. Afterwards, brush again with regular, non-fluoride toothpaste, or you can rinse your mouth really well.
5. ACTIVATED CHARCOAL

Activated charcoal can help whiten teeth by absorbing plaque and microscopic tidbits that cause staining.

Directions: wet a toothbrush and into powdered activated charcoal. Brush teeth as normal, paying close attention to areas showing the most staining. Sip some water, swish around thoroughly and spit it out. Rinse well, until spit is clear.

For best results, brush with activated charcoal 2-3 times per week but avoid using if you have crowns, caps, or porcelain veneers.

Homemade “Boost Juice”

I came up with an awesome concoction of something I’d like to call “Boost Juice!”

Ingredients:

*2-3 cups of Water

*Chamomile Tea (1 bag)

*Green Tea (2 bags)

*1 dash of Turmeric

*3 cap fulls of ACV

*2-3 tbsp Honey

*1-2 Lemon and/or Orange slices

Directions:

1. Brew green tea and chamomile tea in my Tea Kettle. Then I transfer the liquid to a bigger container.

2. I then add the Tumeric, ACV, Honey, and squeeze 1-2 slices of lemon/orange juice into the mix.

3. I stir the mixture and let the flavors marinate in the fridge and cool down.

4. Then I pour the juice into my bottle that I take to work and squeeze an extra orange slice into it.

5. Drink up!

It has a nice light citrus flavor with a hint of green tea. I really love this self made “boost juice” because it adds a boost of healthy benefits to my body!

All these ingredients have combined benefits including:

anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidant properties, lowers risk of heart disease, energy booster, helps with migraines, aids in digestion, lowers blood sugar levels, improves brain function, helps prevent cancer, antidepressant, burns fat, and helps with weight loss!

So I’m definitely winning with this drink!

Thumbs up for healthy homemade drinks!

7 BENEFITS OF APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

  1. INSULIN FUNCTION AND BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS

Apple Cider Vinegar can be useful for people with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or those who want to keep their blood sugar levels low to normal for other reasons. ACV has been found to improve insulin sensitivity and reduces blood sugar.

How to use: Take 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (diluted in water) before bedtime to help reduce blood sugar levels

  1. WEIGHT LOSS

Several human studies suggest that vinegar can increase satiety, which is supposed to help you consume fewer calories. This is said to aid in reducing weight over time. But you would have to combine your ACV intake with healthier diet changes as well in order to see the results.

How to use: Mix 2 teaspoons of ACV w/ a glass of water (about 16 ounces). Drink the mixture about 1 hour before each meal. Or you could even mix it into a salad.

  1. SETTLES UPSET STOMACH

Being that ACV has antibiotic properties, mixing ACV with water can help settle an upset stomach.

How to use: Mix 1 or 2 tablespoons into a glass of water, or clear juice like apple juice.

  1. SOOTHES A SORE THROAT

Most germs can’t survive in the acidic environment vinegar creates. So as soon as you feel the irritation from a sore throat, gargle with apple cider vinegar to help fight off the infection.

How to use: Mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup warm water and gargle every hour or so.

  1. CLEARS STUFFY NOSE

ACV contains potassium, which helps thin out mucus and the acetic acid that it contains helps prevent germ growth, which could be the reason for nasal congestion.

How to use: Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink the mixture to help sinus drainage.

  1. BOOSTS ENERGY

Exercise and sometimes extreme stress can cause lactic acid to build up in the body, which in turn causes fatigue. The amino acids contained in apple cider vinegar acts as a solution. The potassium and enzymes that ACV contains may relieve that tired feeling.

How to use: Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of ACV to a glass of chilled vegetable drink or to a glass of water to boost your energy.

  1. ACV AS A HAIR RINSE

Using ACV as a hair rinse balances hair and sebum pH, cleanses and clarifies your hair, helps get rid of dandruff, adds curl definition, prevents spilt ends, and more! The link has more information for each hair dilemma that ACV can help with! ACV Hair Rinse

How to use: Mix 2-4 tablespoons of ACV w/ 16 ounces of cool water and put mixture into a spray bottle. After you shampoo and rinse out the shampoo, spray mixture on scalp and hair after shampooing and rinsing it out. Leave in for 1-2 minutes and rinse well. Don’t worry; the ACV smell will go away once your hair has been rinsed.

DISCLAIMER:

-There are no side effects noted with normal consumption. But just to be safe, check with your doctor before ingesting ACV.

-ACV has a strong odor and taste, that’s why it needs to be diluted.

-When using ACV, remember that this is an ALL-NATURAL, made from apples, chemical-free product which is:

  1. Cheaper than the medications prescribed for this diseases.
  2. Won’t give you side effects like your current medications might do.

-I’ve researched that the best ACV brand to use is BRAGG Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar which is the most organic unfiltered, unheated, unpasteurized ACV out there! It’s pretty affordable too!

MY THOUGHTS

ACV can help you improve your health a lot more than taking medication designed for a specific problem. I’m someone who hates taking medication and will use medication as a last resort when I absolutely HAVE to. I don’t like the fact that I don’t know what’s in those pills that are prescribed… we just know it’s supposed to temporarily treat an issue which could cause another issue when you take the medication for an extended period of time. If you research, you can find an all-natural remedy for almost any problem.

I hope this helps someone who may be suffering from any of the concerns listed above! If you decided to use ACV, I would be interested to know how things turned out for you!
