Early Valentine’s Day Dinner!

I thought it would be a good idea to go celebrate Valentine’s Day the day before. I knew that it would be super hectic on Valentine’s Day especially living in NYC!

We decided to go to one of our favorite spots called Pizza and Brew.

We ordered the tomato bruschetta and baked stuffed clams for appetizers.

I ordered the Fussili Fantasia which comes with grilled chicken, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella!

He ordered the Sunday Sauce which was a heaping serving of pasta with meatballs beef braciole, braised short ribs and garlic bread!

Everything was amazing!

Did anyone celebrate Valentine’s Day early too! If not what are you doing to celebrate today?

Pizza & Brew in NYC!

I discovered an interesting restaurant a few weeks ago called pizza & Brew. The decor of the restaurant looked so welcoming and I knew anything involving pizza had to be good! Haha! So my hubby and I went to this past weekend.

They have a variety of pizzas, Italian dishes, burgers, and more! They also have a good selection of beer and you can even buy a pitcher for your table!

Here is the Tomato Bruschetta that we ordered for an appetizer. Yum!

I ordered A La Vodka Pizza that had bacon chicken cutlets and a la vodka sauce substituted for tomato sauce.

My hubby ordered the classic margarita pizza and we also had a pitcher of Sam Adams Winter Lager.

I have to say that everything hands down was amazing! Can’t wait to go back which will probably be next week! =D

Surprise Birthday in Buffalo NY!

My husband and I spent the weekend in Buffalo NY for our friend’s surprise 30th birthday and his dad’s birthday as well! Both our friend Jack and his dad were surprised! The party was great and we all had a good time!

Saturday, we went to a nice restaurant for lunch called Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company. They make their own beer and serve food as well! I ordered a Niagara Lager for my beer. I also ordered a Magarita pizza and added pepperoni and mushrooms. It was the bomb!

Then we headed to Becker Farms for a little beer and cider tasting! The farm also had a petting zoo, live music, freshly made donuts, and a variety of beer and ciders to choose from!

I decided to get the Concord House Hard Cider. It almost tasted just like Welch’s Grape juice but had a little kick to it!

I have to say that this weekend was one of the best weekends that I’ve had in a long time! =)

Beer & Food Truck Festival in New Jersey!

This past weekend my hubby and I went to a beer and food truck festival in Little Falls, NJ at Yogi Bera Stadium!

They had a very wide variety of beers to choose from! They also had all types of food trucks too!

There were a few vendors there that were selling different things like jewelry, organic handmade lotions/soaps, and more!

There were many things going on at the festival! There were games such as jumbo sized beer pong, cornhole, and a few other games that you’d find at carnivals!

A live band was also performing. They even had college football games showing on a large projector screen for us to see as the crowd ate and drank!

Here are a few pictures from the day!

I ordered a falafel from one of the food trucks there! It was so good! 😋

I had a great time at this festival and plan on going again next year! 😁

Broadway Show in NYC!

My husband’s birthday was June 30th! So we celebrated during the whole weekend!

Friday we went bowling with family and friends at Bowlmor Bowling Alley in White Plains. Surprisingly I did pretty well since I haven’t played in a long time lol!

Saturday I surprised him and took him to see Phantom of the Opera! He’s been dying to see this showing for the longest time so he was so excited!

I’ve never seen the original Phantom of the Opera so I didn’t know what to expect. The play was pretty good! It had my attention to the whole time! Lol

We headed to BH Kitchen & Bar afterwards to get some good eats! We both ordered BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches and we devoured them! Haha!

Sunday we went to Jones Beach on Long Island with family. We arrived early because we knew it would be super crowded. Good thing we made that decision because it was pretty empty when we arrived. But as we were setting up our area on the beach, the crowd started flooding in! It was such a nice and hot day! We all got a good tan haha! I love the beach!

After the beach, we went to one of my husband’s favorite restaurants, Roc N Ramen in New Rochelle. They serve ramen noodles Japanese style which includes meats, vegetables, and more! I ordered Curried OxTail Ramen and hubby ordered BBQ Chicken Ramen. So delicious!!!

I have to say that this was a great weekend and I’m so happy my husband enjoyed himself!

Krakatoa Restaurant and Bar!

While we’re spending the weekend here in Youngstown, Ohio visiting family, my husband and I decided to explore the area a bit and found a really nice bar/restaurant called Krakatoa!

For those that don’t know, Krakatoa was an Indonesian volcano that had one of the most massive eruptions in history in 1883. The volcanic eruption was so loud that people who were 3,000 miles away could hear it! That’s crazy right?! There’s some history for ya!

We ordered some drinks! My hubby ordered a Founders beer and I ordered a Green Tea “Adult Slushy”.

My hubby ordered the Classic Burger and I ordered the Carnivore which came with pulled pork, bacon, and cheddar cheese! 😋

I will definitely be coming back here again! If you’re ever in Youngstown, you should definitely check out this place!

My 3 Year Wedding Anniversary!

So yesterday was my 3 year wedding anniversary on January 22! But my husband and I have been together for a total of 8 years! I can’t believe it’s been that long! Time is surely flying by!

We went to BH Kitchen and Bar in Manhattan. I ordered their BH Burger and my husband, Danny, had chicken and waffles. The food was so delicious!

We’re sort of an unconventional couple so instead of going on a vacation or to a fancy dinner, we went to Dave and Busters! We played a bunch of games and we had a good ol time! We practically had the place to ourselves so that was a plus!

We ordered the Carnivore Pizzadilla appetizer, I had their Fire Grilled Salmon with Spicy Rice Medley and Sautéed Spinach and my husband had Bistro Steak and Shrimp With Lobster Alfredo Linguine (substituted for marinara sauce)! And for a bar/game play facility, they have really tasty food! Everything was so delicious! If you’ve never ordered food from Dave and Busters then you’re missing out!

We actually have a dining room table that converts into a pool table/ping pong table so we played each other in pool and ping pong when we came home. We’re pretty competitive so it was definitely a good game!

We may not have the house of our dreams, we may not have a house full of kids yet, we may not be able to travel all over the world, and we may not be as wealthy as we’d like to be.

But we have built a great life together so far, and we are grateful and blessed with what we already have. We have such a good relationship that keeps growing stronger each day and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us! 😊

BH Kitchen and Bar Restaurant in NYC!

My colleague told me about this place called BH Kitchen and Bar in the city. When I saw their Instagram page and saw all the delicious food that they have, I knew I just had to check this place out!

The decor is very elegant and modern but the 2 things I loved the most was that it was very spacious AND it had 2 levels! How awesome is that!

We ordered chicken sliders as an appetizer which came with 3 sliders that came with lettuce, creamy sauce, and blue cheese!

My husband ordered chicken and waffles and I was able to grab a bite before he ate it all! LOL

I asked our waiter, Camilo, what burger would he recommend and his first recommendation was the BH Burger but said the Maytag Blue Burger is a great option too. I ended up going with the BH Burger and had a side of Sweet Potato Fries! My burger was very moist and it tasted amazing! The fries were pretty good too!

I’m already planning my next visit here LOL! But if you’re ever in the area, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out! Im sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did! 😊

5 Beer Myths You Should Stop Believing!

1. Beer should be served ice cold

Beer taste best at a temperature between 40 and 55 degrees. Macrobreweries are responsible for the cold temperature falseness! Ice cold beer numbs your palate which reduces the taste of beer. This leads to the urge of wanting to drink more beers! Which is not necessarily a bad thing but it’s taking away from enjoying the true taste of the beer.

2. Lagers are light and flavorless

Just as ales have plenty of lighter styles, lagers have lighter varieties as well. If you’re looking for lagers with more flavor, try these: dopplebocks, rauchbier, and Baltic porters!

3. Bottled beer is better than canned

The same UV rays that give you a tan are the same rays that can harm your unprotected beer! Canned beer will help keep the strong flavor versus bottled beer since the bottled beer is more exposed.

4. Dark beer is all the same

Dark is not a flavor. The dark color of beer only tells you the amount of kilned or roasted malt that was used to make the beer. Dark beers have unique tastes each with their hints of bitterness, sweetness, spicy or fruity flavor notes.

5. Beer is the cause of your “beer belly”

Czech researchers found that beer consumption is a poor indicator of weight gain. Normally if you drink a bunch, there’s a good chance you’ll put on some weight. But research suggests that this is true no matter what beverage you choose!

Which myth did you find most surprising?! Comment below and share your thoughts.

Favorite Irish Pub Restaurant in NYC!

One of my favorite restaurants that I’ve been to since living in NYC is:

Burke’s Restaurant and Bar!

The staff are super nice and friendly! The restaurant welcomes all people from all ages and backgrounds!

The restaurant has a fun atomesphere whether you’re there with your family enjoying dinner or you’re there with your boys watching the UFC fights!

They have a live band perform on certain nights, free burger nights, deals on drinks, and birthday specials too!

My husband is a big fan of beer and I threw him a surprise birthday last year here and reserved the Personal Draft Table!

This Draft Table offers you 2 choices of unlimited beer that you can have all for you and your friends!

I recently went here earlier this week to celebrate my brother in law’s birthday!

My beer of choice for the night was Shock Top! This is one of my favorite beers because I love the hint of citrus!

I decided I wanted to order a nice juicy burger with yummy fries! It was delicious!

It’s always a good time when I dine here! If you’re in the Yonkers area looking for some good food, great entertainment, and a great atomesphere, come over to Burkes!
