Flavorful Veggies Over Pasta Recipe!

I wanted to try something different from what I usually make with pasta which is with meatballs or chicken. So I decided to use the vegetables that I picked up from the Virginia Farmer’s Market the other day!

Tomato, cherry tomatoes, red onion, green onion, zuchinni, and yellow squash.

I chopped up everything to prepare it for cooking.

I used a little olive oil and sautéed the red onions until they browned. I then added all the vegetables to the pan and added my spices. I used garlic powder, Italian seasoning, a little salt, pepper, fresh basil, and fresh rosemary.

I mixed everything together and covered and let it cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes.

Then I added marinara sauce to the pan, mixed it in, and put the temperature on low. I covered the on and let it cook for about 7-10minutes or until the veggies are soft.

Then I poured the veggie marinara sauce over tri-colored rotini pasta and garnished with fresh basil! I also enjoyed this meal with a nice and crispy piece garlic toast! Yum!

Chillin By The Beach!

Even though it’s Fall season, the weather here in Virginia Beach has been warmer than expected! Because of that, I’ve been able to enjoy the beautiful warm and breezy weather by hanging out at the beach!

There is an area near the end of the boardwalk where they have a fishing spot. It was so many people out there so this must be fishing season lol. I was just sitting on the bench with hubby enjoying the warm weather and taking in the beautiful scenery around me!

What I’m Aiming For

I took some time to sit outside and write out some of my goals that I’m aiming for.

I feel like when I write them down, I have a closer connection to achieving those goals of that makes sense lol.

Do you like to journal?! If so, how often do you journal?

Waking Up With Turmeric Tea!

Turmeric is a spice and medicinal herb that has been used in primarily in India for many years!

I came across these benefits and decided to make my own turmeric tea. I have been making this tea at least twice a week in the morning to start my day.

To make my turmeric tea, I heat up a cup of water. Then I add about two dashes of turmeric powder along with a small dash of black pepper.

Yess I said black pepper lol! I know it sounds strange but research has shown that black pepper enhances the effects of the turmeric.

Curcumin is the most active ingredient in turmeric but it is not easily absorbed by the body. Black pepper has the compound piperine and when combined with turmeric, it helps with the absorption process of curcumin! Pretty cool right?! And don’t worry you don’t taste the spiciness of the black pepper in the tea.

So after you add two dashes of turmeric and a small dash of black pepper to your heated water, I squeeze in lemon and/or lime juice to add some flavor to it. Plus citrus is good for digestion as well! If you want you can also add a spoonful of honey for sweetness!

Here are a few benefits of consuming Turmeric!

-Boosts immune system

-Improves heart health

-Reduces inflammation

-Has antioxidant properties

Have you ever tried turmeric before?! If so, how do you use it?!

Virginia Farmer’s Market!

Today me and hubby had to do some grocery shopping and decided to check our local farmers market!

They had a shop that had all natural soaps, face wash, and lotions. We ended up buying a few all natural soaps to try out! They smell so good! =)

We bought a few canned goods as well like elderberry jelly, salsa, fresh unfiltered honey, pumpkin butter, and mango garlic hot sauce!

And we grabbed some produce as well, they had a variety of veggies and fruits.

I’ve been to a few farmers markets that are only open seasonally. But the cool thing about this farmers market is that they are opened all year round! So I’m definitely coming back! =)

Do you shop at the farmer’s market?

Makeup Look!

Did my makeup yesterday but went absolutely nowhere! Lol. Sometimes I like doing my makeup just to test out different looks and I think I did a decent job! And I decided to take a few pictures so my makeup won’t go to waste! =)
