Early Valentine’s Day Dinner!

I thought it would be a good idea to go celebrate Valentine’s Day the day before. I knew that it would be super hectic on Valentine’s Day especially living in NYC!

We decided to go to one of our favorite spots called Pizza and Brew.

We ordered the tomato bruschetta and baked stuffed clams for appetizers.

I ordered the Fussili Fantasia which comes with grilled chicken, mushrooms, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella!

He ordered the Sunday Sauce which was a heaping serving of pasta with meatballs beef braciole, braised short ribs and garlic bread!

Everything was amazing!

Did anyone celebrate Valentine’s Day early too! If not what are you doing to celebrate today?

Pizza & Brew in NYC!

I discovered an interesting restaurant a few weeks ago called pizza & Brew. The decor of the restaurant looked so welcoming and I knew anything involving pizza had to be good! Haha! So my hubby and I went to this past weekend.

They have a variety of pizzas, Italian dishes, burgers, and more! They also have a good selection of beer and you can even buy a pitcher for your table!

Here is the Tomato Bruschetta that we ordered for an appetizer. Yum!

I ordered A La Vodka Pizza that had bacon chicken cutlets and a la vodka sauce substituted for tomato sauce.

My hubby ordered the classic margarita pizza and we also had a pitcher of Sam Adams Winter Lager.

I have to say that everything hands down was amazing! Can’t wait to go back which will probably be next week! =D

Surprise Birthday in Buffalo NY!

My husband and I spent the weekend in Buffalo NY for our friend’s surprise 30th birthday and his dad’s birthday as well! Both our friend Jack and his dad were surprised! The party was great and we all had a good time!

Saturday, we went to a nice restaurant for lunch called Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company. They make their own beer and serve food as well! I ordered a Niagara Lager for my beer. I also ordered a Magarita pizza and added pepperoni and mushrooms. It was the bomb!

Then we headed to Becker Farms for a little beer and cider tasting! The farm also had a petting zoo, live music, freshly made donuts, and a variety of beer and ciders to choose from!

I decided to get the Concord House Hard Cider. It almost tasted just like Welch’s Grape juice but had a little kick to it!

I have to say that this weekend was one of the best weekends that I’ve had in a long time! =)

NYC’s BIGGEST PIZZA!!! Home of the Super Slice!

Here in Yonkers is a Pizza shop called Pizza Barn!

They’ve been featured on local news channels, in newspaper articles, and on popular websites like Insider, New York Post and Thrillist.

They are known for their 2 foot long giant pizza slice!

They have a variety of toppings you can choose such as pepperoni, chicken, bacon, hawaiian, vegetarian, and much more!

I decided to grab a pepperoni super slice and it was humongous! The pizza was the same size as the pizza box! Haha!

Whenever you’re in Yonkers, make sure you stop by to grab a super huge slice of pizza!!!

My Eventful Weekend!

Saturday we hung out with my friend earlier in the day. We actually went to Dunwoodie Pizzeria in Yonkers. My husband got a recommendation for us to try this place out. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza, our friend ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, and my husband ordered a chicken wrap. The food was so delicious!

And it’s funny because this pizzeria is close by and I never heard of or seen it before! I’m glad we went here! They also make homemade Italian ices and sell it all year round! Isn’t that awesome! So we bought a big container of cherry and lemon!

Sunday we went to dinner at this Peruvian Restaurant called Pio Pio in the Bronx for my mother n law’s birthday! I ordered Camarones Cuzco which was a shrimp dish in a citrus sauce with yellow rice.

My husband ordered the Lomo Saltado which was steak mixed in with rice and french fries.

I’ve never had Peruvian food before so the taste and food pairings were a little different for me but my family said they enjoyed everything!

Have you had Peruvian food before?! Comment below!

Homemade Pizza!

This weekend my husband decided to make us a homemade pizza! I was super excited because pizza is one of my favorite foods!

The pizza crust was premade which made the process a little easier!

He added pizza sauce, shredded cheese, mushrooms, onions, and red peppers!

We both devoured that pizza! It was so delicious! 😋

Have you made homemade pizza before? If so what type of pizza did you make?

The STRANGEST Pizza Toppings You Can Order In The US!

>>Severus Grape Pizza

Location: BROOKLYN, NY

Vinnie’s Pizzeria

This Brooklyn pizza shop has a menu with interesting topping options from kale to ground beef to avocados! The Severus Grape pizza is served with grapes, gorgonzola, roasted red peppers, and a little drizzle of honey!

>>Bananas; The Montrose Pie

Red’s Pizza

Red’s Pizzeria is owned by two Swedish brothers who wanted to introduce Americans to Swedish style pies. These brothers brought the tradition of adding pizza pies topped with bananas to their menu. Some say it reminds them of Hawaiian pizza!

>>Tuna Fish Salad; The Tonno Pizza

The Tonno pizza was served during Lent on Fridays for Roman Catholics who can’t eat meat during this time. But this has become a fan favorite for their customers! The tuna salad is made in house, then spread onto the baked pizza crust, almost serving as the sauce. Then shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, and a special “secret” dressing and seasonings are spread over top and is served cold!

>>Crabs & Old Bay; Crab Pie

Location: BALTIMORE, MD

Matthew’s Pizza

Matthew’s Pizza opened their first pizzeria in Baltimore so they found it fitting to pay tribute to Maryland’s most famous export: crab! The crab pie is topped with crab meat smothered in carmalized onions, with mozzarella and reggianito cheese! Then it’s finished off with Old Bay seasoning!

>>Lobster; Whole Lobster Pizza

Location: GRAMERCY, NY

Florian offers an entire 1 lb lobster (including the head) on top of thin crust, mozzarella cheese, and burrata. The presentation is pretty impressive and it cost $32, perfect choice for date night!

>>Thanksgiving Dinner; Thanksgiving Pizza

Fellini Pizzeria

This creative pizza makes its debut on a single day before Thanksgiving each year, but get this, it’s only available for 24 hours! On this pizza there is slow roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce on the side! Fellini takes orders weeks in advance. They can’t offer Thanksgiving  Dinner pie as a regular menu item because it takes them about a week of prep work to prepare for a single day of orders!

>>Frito Pie; Chili Cheese Frito

Location: MILWAUKEE, WI & Other Locations

Ian’s Pizza

Ian’s pizza started as a by-the-slice-pizzeria serving hungry college kids from University of Wisconsin. Their monthly specials always had the weirdest options including the Frito pie! They make their own beef chili in house, spread that over the pie, topped with onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and of course crunchy Fritos!

Would you dare try one of these strange pizza slices?! I definitely would! =)

Which one would you try?!
