Waking Up With Turmeric Tea!

Turmeric is a spice and medicinal herb that has been used in primarily in India for many years!

I came across these benefits and decided to make my own turmeric tea. I have been making this tea at least twice a week in the morning to start my day.

To make my turmeric tea, I heat up a cup of water. Then I add about two dashes of turmeric powder along with a small dash of black pepper.

Yess I said black pepper lol! I know it sounds strange but research has shown that black pepper enhances the effects of the turmeric.

Curcumin is the most active ingredient in turmeric but it is not easily absorbed by the body. Black pepper has the compound piperine and when combined with turmeric, it helps with the absorption process of curcumin! Pretty cool right?! And don’t worry you don’t taste the spiciness of the black pepper in the tea.

So after you add two dashes of turmeric and a small dash of black pepper to your heated water, I squeeze in lemon and/or lime juice to add some flavor to it. Plus citrus is good for digestion as well! If you want you can also add a spoonful of honey for sweetness!

Here are a few benefits of consuming Turmeric!

-Boosts immune system

-Improves heart health

-Reduces inflammation

-Has antioxidant properties

Have you ever tried turmeric before?! If so, how do you use it?!
