Weekend in Virginia!

I went to northern Virginia for my friend’s welcome back party! We ate at her favorite restaurant called Chevy’s Fresh Mex! I ordered Chicken Enchiladas and my husband ordered Flame Grilled Fajitas! Our food was delicious!

After dinner, we moved the party to their house where we played “What The Meme” which is a pretty fun game when played with a lot of people! A lot of people who came were friends from college so we were all catching up and reminiscing about all the old but good memories we shared!

I was also able to see my little niece while i was here! She’ll be 1 next month! I won’t be able to make it to her birthday party so I’m glad I was able to spend time with her!

Well I definitely needed this little getaway! Here are a few pics from this weekend! Check my personal Instagram for more pictures and videos! Hope you enjoy! 😊

We also sung karaoke and played this game called Pokeeno (which is like Bingo) and I won a bunch of times! Haha 😁

It was so nice spending time with family but also great to catch up with my friends that I haven’t seen in years! Good friends are hard to find and keep days and these are some awesome people! ❤️

How did you spend your Labor Day weekend?

My Trip To D.C. This Weekend!

Unfortunately I found out that my close friend’s mother passed away. My husband and I went down to the DMV (stands for DC, Maryland, Virginia) area this weekend to be a support for our friend and his family.

Our other close friends came into town as well for the funeral. His family was happy and grateful that we were there for them during this tough time. If you have a few seconds, please keep his family in your prayers. Thank you!

We all went to college together but we all live in different places. So because of duties of life and the distance between us, we haven’t seen each other in a few months and it’s been even longer since we’ve seen some of the others. So it was nice that we all got a chance to meet up again! It was like old times, we’re just a little older now! Haha! We’re all starting families, getting promotions, achieving our goals, etc so it was nice to catch up with everyone!

Also 2 of my close friends from college live in Maryland so I was able to visit them! My friend just had a baby a month ago so I was super excited to see them!

Some of my husband’s family members live in Northern Virginia so we went to visit them as well! As you can see we took advantage of being in town and made sure we were able to spend time with everyone!

I thank God for these great people that I have in my life! They are amazing!

STORY OF MY LIFE! (Literally)

“All adventures, especially into new territory are scary.”

-Sally Ride

I know this experience all too well because I’ve entered into new territory MULTIPLE times due to my dad being in the Navy when I was growing up. He’s a retired Navy Chief serving 24.5 years!

I’ve was born in Manhattan, NY and after that I lived in:

Adak, Alaska–> Rota, Spain–> Virginia Beach, Virginia–> Chesapeake, Virginia–> Manama, Bahrain–> Back to Chesapeake, Va–> Then back to Virginia Beach, VA where I graduated from high school.

Me around 1 year old in Adak, Alaska.
Me around 8 years old and my little sis who was a few months old in front of our house in Chesapeake, VA. (Sorry for the glare in the pic)
Our 8 bedroom 9 bathroom home in Manama, Bahrain. I was 13 years old when I lived here.
Chandelier of our 3 story house in Manama, Bahrain with my sister by the banister. (Sorry for the glare in the pic)

After high school, I attended college at Penn State University, The Behrend College in Erie, Pennsylvania where I met my future husband.

With one of my close college friends on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
2 of my close friends during college at Lake Erie’s Beach in Pennsylvania.

Then I moved to NYC with my husband and here I am now!

My husband and I in NYC with my 2 elementary school friends who are also married who’ve always stayed in touch no matter where I moved to.

See I wasnt joking! Each new territory came with different personalities, different cultures, different schools, different morals, different mannerisms, and different weather to say the least.

It was a very tough experience to constantly move and leave my friends behind. Making new friends wasn’t very easy for me since I was very shy, but I eventually made friends and once I got comfortable enough to let my guard down, everything was great!

Whenever I had to move, I would try super hard to keep my long distance friendships alive. But because of the “growing up and growing apart” or “out of sight, out of mind” notions, I lost touch with a lot of friends.

I went through all these changes and adjustments through my life and some situations were very difficult to handle.

But through it all, I was able to travel to new places, became friends with people of different cultures, matured more quickly than the average person, and learned to be very independent.

So yes all adventures into new territory can be scary, but if I was able to survive through my “adventures”, then you can too! =)
